Monks and ele's are by far the most boring for me. I've tried a monk, never got it past sumria. Ele, well...never even got to the first mission cos i was so bored. Select target, press buttons, get screwed up. Rinse, lather, repeat. Rangers are fun, so are warriors, mesmers, i ain't played too far yet, but sounds fun. It seems like the more energy i need, the less fun the class gets. I can't see fun in mesmers for PvE, but PvP.....pissing people off is fun.

For PvE at least, I find warriors the most challenging of the lot. I've done a nuker Ele and a healing Monk, and personally they don't really require the actual situational awareness of a Warrior. All they really do is manage their energy and skill cooldown, and check to see if they're being beaten on.

Warriors though have to manage body-blocking, moving to protect casters, finding the best way to round up enemies/catch aggro, and at the same time, manage energy/adrenaline to pull of damage spikes.

my monk is probably boring because
A: i only play solo or with my friend so that only gives me 2 people to heal at most times
or
B: my heals heal for more than any monster can dish out in 2-3 hits, so i just sit there and press 2 every once in a while

Well, that's cause you seem to be in Ascalon still ^^

I really don't play my water/Earth ele anymore, cause I've givin it up in place of a full Prot/Smiting monk to go with my Healer. Now, mind you, I really hate PvP, its never got my attention at all, and the only place where its "balanced" is in the level 20 arenas, since everyone has access to all the same skills, unlike the Ascalon arena, where there are people with Illusionary Weaponry, Shield of Judgement, and all that crap and make it extremely unfair.

So basically I love any monk.

Aeromancer. I still have a burning hatred for that class yet their power was beautiful in it's simplicity. Maybe that's why they are so boring.

For me the most boring pve Class was surely mesmer... course its one of the most fun pvp classes so it balanced out.

At first I would of agreeed with Rangers being boring , I started 6-10 rangers in preseering, trying to make them work before getting bored, but eventually, I broke down and just played as one, and if you can get through the tedium, they get to be just awesome in high levels.

No class is really truely boring, even my heal monk was more amusing them my mesmer =)

The most boring class is the one that least fits the player's playing style

My monkee is the most fun of my 3 characters. I love the versatility - depending on the skillset I can either be a support character of some sort, or a damage dealer, or just screw them all and go farming on my own when I want to. A monk can do anything, depending on your mood! Love that.

Of course it's little fun to group with people who chose to blame the monk for their own (or someone else's) failures, but when in a good team, I love the feeling of power of a team where 3 good monks work in unison with 4 other good players, easily beating anything that comes in the way. I'm thinking about the FoW team I was lucky to be part of yesterday - in teams like that, where every class contributes its strenghts to the common success, it's really fun to be a monk.

For me probably ele is kinda boring because it's too straightforward. Nuke nuke nuke .... blah.

Mesmer is very fun too because of the immense power they have, but it's also the most complicated class that really involves some thinking to be effective. Besides Me females have THE cutest 15k armor in the game!!

Warrior is fun just because of the speedrunning. And of course running around with a fellblade or fiery looking chaos axe in your hand is even more fun Apart from that there's not much else.

Rangers are boring in PvE but immense fun in PvP (no, I dont consider spirits part of PvP fun -.-)! Thank heavens for secondary classes that allow to unlock ranger skills without playing a ranger through PvE.

Finally necros seem really fun too but I don't have a 5th slot to try a necro primary

LOL... nice.

Each class is only as boring as the player makes it. I think each class can be lots of fun, just depends on what you are looking for.

I think to some degree EVERY class in pre-sear is boring for the same reason. You mostly play solo, and everything is so easy! Try going over the wall with your friend, then see how challenging being a monk is....!

Also, all players change as they accumulate their skills. During my stint to Lvl 20 as a Ranger, I've gone from fast shooter, damage dealer, disrupter, spirit summoner, beast master, and currently, I'm a very keen trapper.

Any class will probably have a fair deal of variety like that in it. Take a look at Monk, for instance. You can be a smiter, healer, protector etc., and as you progress, it doesn't matter who the leader of your group is, the final outcome of any mission you go on will be down to YOU!

So don't give up on your monk. OK, hitting "Heal" every 2 seconds won't seem very exciting, but I bet all that will change in Post-searing! :-)

Agreed. Cake > Model T's.

Anyways, I'm siding with Warriors as boring... in the event that you actually want to FIGHT. Running as a warrior is a blast.

Unbeknownst to many, it's also a great test of strategy. You have to find pockets where there are no enemies to rest those sprinting skills, you have to time them right, you have to avoid certain types of enemies, and so on.

Oh, and BTW... a W/E is great for that. Armor of Mist (run 33% faster, etc), Sprint, Charge!, Windborn Speed... it goes on. So many ways to go fast.

I'm sure Rangers are quite interesting at higher levels... but they're really quite boring pre-searing... I want a trapper, but I just can't stand leveling up to that.

Think Mesmers are bad for PvE? Try switching targets. The enemy will punish themselves. Empathy that Forgotten Hammer, Backfire that Hydra, then do some fun stuff with Mind Wrack! You can sit there and take on three different enemies at once, instead of just one. There is a downside, though... this will confuse your henchmen.

Healing Monks boring? Go secondary Ranger with a Pet. I soloed for a while with a Healing Monk/Moa Bird combo... good fun. You get to attack by commanding the bird, and still heal.

In short, if you don't know how to actually play the class, it will seem boring. It's when you get into some of the unique skills that seem out of character that things get interesting.

Sure, good for PvE, but who wnats to piss off monsters? It's more fun to watch some idiot screaming " 0h n035!!!1111"

[but PvP.....pissing people off is fun.]

Now why would pissing people off be fun? I see no fun when an idiotic ranger runs around the map, has no rez, isn't a R/Mo so isn't going to cast a rez either, but, just runs around the arena to piss people off, why is that fun? And I use rangers because it is the most common character/player that does this silly chicken run around the map. Fortunately I have a build for that type of play and I love spanking them with it. A little sprint/hamstring with extended duration of cripple weapon and then "banish" to top them off with and watch them go POOF as they try to run one last time after I've beaten the heck out of them. lol Yes, now that's what I think is FUN! Lol there is nothing more FUN that stomping a Ranger into the dirt and mud of the game. hahaha

I'd have to say every class is boring at some point while they can be exciting as well!

BORING MOMENTS:
Warrior: Later game without farming build. Hack hack hack *yawns*.
Ranger: Middle game... "Jee I can't kill a damn thing."
Mesmer: Late game... "Conjure phantasm got old 15 levels ago"
Elementalist: Early game, "where's my 1337 nuke skills!?! Teh h4x!"
Necro: Early game, "My minions are teh sux0rz"
Monk: No party or henchmen, "I have so much love to give!!! *sniffle*"

FUN/EXCITING MOMENTS:
Warrior: Early game. "Zomfg I can farm!!!"
Ranger: Late game. "Boring, boring, boring, omfg a trap! I finally do something now!!"
Mesmer: Early game/PVP. "Conjure phantasm is the best skill ever!"
Elementalist: Late game. "I don't care if you're a prize hog, you're getting nuked."
Necro: Late game, "Well of power, need I explain more?"
Monk: Party time. "w00t, everyone lubs me!"

All have their fun and boring points in the game.
